The property owner of 5070-5098 Appian, the former El Sobrante Christian High School and also the site of our Unique Flea Open Air Market, is moving ahead with plans for site demolition and remediation this year. This is in preparation to secure development funding that will provide affordable residential housing. This Wednesday, Central will present its plans to the community at the El Sobrante Municipal Advisory Council (MAC) meeting at the El Sobrante library: October 14 at 7pm: El Sobrante MAC Meeting at the El Sobrante Library.
Triangle Works members will be at the meeting to observe the presentation and continue to publicly advocate and plan for maximal TW engagement in all parts of the planning process. We could use a few more people to show up at the meeting in support of our vision to expand the Triangle Area to offer maximum benefits to the community, such as community-centric and walkable retail, maximum greenery, and the possibility of large-scale assets such as a resilience center.
Contact Serge@triangleworks.org if you’d like to join a planning meeting or Zoom call before the MAC meeting. The fate of this property has the potential to make or break our long-term vision of turning the Sobrante Triangle area into a special place.
