Getting Involved with Triangle Works
Become a TW Volunteer
6/9/20261 min read
We are a not huge team of volunteers, but have lots of ambition for our Triangle Area community. There are specific tasks and goals that we are always working on, and things we could use specific help with.
This month, there are two areas where we are looking for people to commit some time and effort to:
1. A Big Triangle: Outreach to local businesses:
Triangle Works aims to vitalize the area around the Triangle Area through its participation at the “Good Triangle” of the Shed, Planting Justice and the Good Table Café, faciliatation of murals, and advocacy for the beneficial reuse of the adjacent former high school house property on Appian Way (see our website for our general mission statement, goals and objectives). We have not yet developed a systematic working relationship with the many businesses within and adjacent to the Triangle, and need to do outreach to them so that we can beautify and integrate our part of town. Come work with the TW coordinators to get our name out there and see how we can work with local businesses for mutual advantage of attracting people and energy. Click here to contact us about this opportunity.
2. A Little Triangle
If becoming a Triangle Ambassador is too much, consider donating as little as 10 minutes, once a week, for this simple but important task:
TW shares access to the former high school site parking lot with Planting Justice for the weekly Sunday Farmers Market and also occasional Open Air Market. Every Sunday morning, and afternoon, we need volunteers to open and close the chain that blocks parking lot access. It’s a small but significant action that keeps the weekly routine of the Farmers Market going, and a way to help Planting Justice subsidize this important community asset.
